Machine true 90-degree internal steps, level flat-bottom stone seats, and square internal gallery walls with positive vertical guidance. Manufactured in Germany by NIQUA to exacting European toolmaking standards, the NIQUA® SUPER Q® Cylinder Squared Bur "34" (Flat Cylinder) is a dedicated rotary cutting instrument engineered for goldsmithing, stone setting, and precision cavity machining.
Featuring a straight cylindrical body with sharp end-cutting flutes across the flat tip and circumferential cross-cut teeth along the sides, the Series 34 bur cuts simultaneously on its bottom face and perimeter walls. This geometry enables the artisan to establish uniform floor depths and true, vertical side edges without digging or gouging adjacent structures. Forged from premium hardened tool steel, each bur delivers clean chip clearance in soft, ductile alloys including gold, sterling silver, copper, and brass. Fitted with an industry-standard 2.35 mm (3/32") shank, these burs drop directly into jeweler flexible shaft handpieces, quick-change chucks, and brushless micromotors. Available in a full size progression from 0.60 mm to 2.70 mm (Item Codes: 03 208 006 to 03 208 027), each size is packaged in a bench-ready storage box of 6 pieces.
Why Choose NIQUA® SUPER Q® Cylinder Squared Burs "34"
-
End-and-Side Cutting Geometry: Precision-cut teeth on both the flat tip and the cylindrical body allow simultaneous floor leveling and wall squaring in a single pass.
-
True 90° Internal Right Angles: Creates clean right-angled corners and perpendicular shoulders for baguette, square, and emerald-cut stone mountings.
-
Controlled Depth Regulation: The flat end face registers against the cavity floor, maintaining a steady, uniform depth across broad recesses without wandering.
-
Clog-Resistant Chip Fluting: Engineered gullets rapidly clear metal shavings away from the cutting zone to prevent clogging and heat buildup in precious metals.
-
Low-Vibration Concentric Operation: Precision-ground tool steel shanks reduce radial runout, ensuring smooth running and preventing chatter marks under high magnification.
-
Hardened German Tool Steel: Delivers long service life, durable edge retention, and smooth cutting efficiency across daily bench work.
