The 90-degree profile matches standard faceted gemstone pavilions, allowing diamond setters to cut matching bearing shelves inside prongs without undercutting or weakening the claw base. The fine-cut (f) fluting provides controlled material removal, preventing aggressive grabbing or chatter in soft, ductile alloys including yellow gold, sterling silver, copper, brass, and related non-ferrous metals.
