While wax carving is generally a subtractive process, complex bespoke designs—such as raised scrollwork, organic floral elements, or heavy bezels—often require adding material onto the base model. WOLF WAX® Relief Wax™ is formulated specifically for this additive workflow. Designed by master carver Kate Wolf and manufactured by Ferris, this specialized red wax flows smoothly from a heated pen directly onto standard carving waxes. Once cooled, it cures to a medium hardness that can be seamlessly carved, milled, and detailed without flaking.
